My Space Hulk day is canceled at least for another 8 hours.
Australia doesn’t get this puppy until Saturday the 5th of September. It’s our punishment for for robbing her Majesties’ bread rolls 200 years ago.
However, because I am such a charming young lad the shop keep said I can have it tomorrow night. That means only 1 more sleep. Age of Conan will have to tide me over until then.

…just opened the box, which weighs an absolute tonne, and everything inside is better than I could have possibly imagined.
While GW still aren’t perfect in my eyes, the contense of this game most certainly are, cheers for convincing me to buy it after all Rab.
Well almost perfect, for some reason 2 of the Genestealers (so 4 in total) have only been sculpted with 3 arms…the shoulder joint for the 4th arm is there but the arm itself has gone for a wee walk.
Cracked ‘im open last night, and despite not having a modelling knife (a crime; I know) had a game with the wobbly models. My chum managed to get his termies 12 squares away from the start area before the flamer got eaten. WIN!
Have to say that the quality of it has really floored me, 2nd edition was a revelation with the plastic terminators but the fancy poses and new ’stealers are lovely. Also the board sections look like they will outlive my great-great-grandchildren.
I got my copy on Saturday. Spend a couple of hours in Games Workshop in Aberdeen on Sunday with a lovely chap taking me through the absolute basics of miniature painting with a wee Aragorn.
Last night me and herself went back with our copy of the game and we clipped everything out of the sprues and started painting out first Space Hulk miniatures. We’ve had a metric shiteload of fun with this so far and we haven’t even played it yet!
I did a wee unboxing video as a wee nod to the ‘In The Box’ bits from each episode of Downtime Town. Will get it posted asap.
And Rab, can’t thank you enough. Loving this whole experience so far.

I thought I was doing fine seperating the figures from the sprues until I managed to snap the little eagle standard thing off of the sergeant with the power sword. All in all though, one breakage I can live with (I figure a Genestealer tore it off maybe). Best components in any boardgame ever really.
