I Bought New Games

I must admit that I bought some new games at the weekend there.
One thing I bought was an expansion for a game that I’ll be covering in the next episode of DowntimeTown. That’s your only clue. Can you guess what it is? A game with an expansion. That narrows it down, eh?
Then, I bought Martin Wallace’s Brass.
It’s a game about the Industrial Revolution in Lancashire. What? Shut up.
I was also in the market for a two-player game for me and my beloved to play. It had to be something that had us at each other’s throats. What better than a board game about the Cold War?
I will report back to you soon on these hopefully wonderful new games. Wish me luck!
ZoZ!

Twilight Struggle! Yes! Such a brilliant game, and yes you will hate each other at the end of it.
Twilight Struggle is one hell of a game. A 10/10 for me. I’m quite sure you’ll like it.
Brass isn’t my thing.
However Twilight Struggle does sound like a bad case of constipation – I hope the game rises above it’s amusing title.
I’ve been eyeing up Twilight Struggle for some time but it’s a bit pricey at the moment, would you say it’s ’slightly better than eating for a week’ or ‘completely better…’?.
Make sure to eat Twiglets while playing Twiglet Struggle.
Hi,
regarding the next episode: Hopefully the new Cosmic Encounter or one the Descent Expansions. The other expansions in your collection are not that interested to me…
Twilight Struggle is a cracker, though yes – you’ll be at each other’s throats before the night it out. Did you get the new deluxe edition with the hefty board? Well worth the extra few quid.
As for Brass – again, a great game. New (simplified) version is out soon as well, not that Brass is a tricky game to learn.
Twilight Struggle is fantastic, although my opinion may be biased by the fact that I crushed my regular gaming partner at it two out of the three times we’ve played. Still, though…
Next episode… is it Arkham Horror? That’s expansion-tastic. Hope you’ve got a stupidly big table to go with it. I was given it for my birthday and had to remodel the flat.
Or have you reviewed it already? Only just discovered your site today. Great work.
