Gone, but Gaming

I’ve been gone for quite some time. It’s difficult to run a one man website when you hit those busy periods in other parts of your life.
I’ve been playing games, though. I want to talk about all of these in time, and I will. I will ask for your patience for just a little bit longer.
I might do some audio things or something, to keep things ticking over. It also looks like I have something exciting lined up for September, in the old RPG area, with other exciting people. I’m basically asking for your input. In these periods when it’s hard to find the time to do the video stuff, should I write more or do something else? Audio perhaps?
Let me know.

I want to see that zombie special.
Can’t come up with an original solution, but of those you mentioned, audio sounds better than writing. I think it’s safe to say people _love_ to hear you speak. As in: you speaking is much more unique (relative to what else is out there on the net) than you writing and, so, a better reason to visit your website. You’re a good actor, so it only makes sense, it seems.
As for writing, something I’d personally be very interested in reading is articles dedicated to gaming phenomena rather than specific games (we have very little of the former and quite enough of the latter): role-playing as such, board game genres and trends, your “outsider” take on collectible card games and miniature games, etc.
If someone can come up with other options, I’d be interested to hear them.
Cheers.
I think rather than trying to rush the video stuff when you’re short on time, an audio update on what you’re playing, for example, would be great. I really enjoy some of the other articles you’ve written though. An absolute favourite of mine was the ‘How to run a gaming night’ one. So anything else like that would be equally wonderful.
Finally, maybe some previews of stuff you’ve played lately just to whet our appetite?
Anyway, good luck with it all. It’s a great site and I imagine most people will periodically check back every week or so when it’s quiet, so I wouldn’t worry.
You could do a photo montage thing with talking and photos of a game, if that’s much easier than a regular video. It’d be a decent substitute for a “proper” episode, anyway.
Why not broadcast one of the games you are playing? Justin TV et al?
Was excited at the War Stories concept from CV that never went anywhere.
When it’s not your turn/folk go for a slash you could mug to camera etc.
Some sort of podcasty thing would be just the ticket. Just give us a wee rundown of what you’ve been playing lately but are unlikely to review fully, that sort of thing?
Nathan’s idea about broadcasting one of your games is tip-top. I’ve seen a few other critics do it and it can be quite gripping. Gotta pick the right game for it though.
C’mon, Robert, we miss you and we need you back!
I agree with Alysson. Come on, Robert. I thought we had something special going on; don’t tell me it didn’t mean anything to you.
I check this website a every day and there is no update
We miss you robert!!!
I know it probably shows how sad i am, but i’ve still been checking this site every day since my last post.
Any chance of letting us know when/if you will return?
Hiya Rob,
You probably dont read this but on the off chance you do, are you completely done with the site? or will you be back at some point?
Is the site/reviews ever coming back? or as we say in America “Put a fork in it, it’s done”
Rab, you bugger, there are people looking for you here, and you haven’t left a forwarding address!
For those wishing to partake in Mr Florence’s raving about boardgames, check out http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/. It’s mostly a videogames site, but he does a boardgame column called Cardboard Children on Saturdays. Also, he’s supposedly planning to re-tool this site a boardgame meet-up thing.
